Behrooz Paygan is a Tehran-born composer, arranger, producer, pianist, musical director and educator based in Canada, with more than twenty years of professional experience across orchestral, film, television, theatre and live performance.

He began playing piano at seven and went on to study music composition, earning a bachelor's degree in 2007 and a master's in musical arts management in 2012, both in Voronezh, Russia. Since 2001 he has brought symphonic rock and metal into film and television scores. He moved to Canada in 2013.

As musical director, band leader and pianist, he has performed in more than 250 concerts across Canada, Europe, Australia and the Middle East, working with artists including Reza Yazdani, Chaartaar, Roozbeh Bemani, Shahab Baradaran and Yasamin Saleki.

In the studio, he has composed, arranged, produced, mixed and mastered more than 80 commercial recordings, and produced three original solo albums from composition to mastering. His music has been used in albums, television series, feature films and theatre productions. Since 2018 he has run Paygan Studio in Toronto and taught music theory, harmony, composition, piano, guitar, ear training and music production.

His work has been recognized with Best Music for Kids Theatre at the Green Theater Festival (2001) and a nomination for Best Music Producer (2010–2013). He is a member of the Iranian Musicians Union.

Today Behrooz is focused on scoring for film and games, and is open to commissions and collaborations.

بهروز پایگان آهنگساز، تنظیم‌کننده، تهیه‌کننده، پیانیست، مدیر موسیقی و مدرس متولد تهران است که در کانادا زندگی می‌کند و بیش از بیست سال تجربه‌ی حرفه‌ای در موسیقی ارکستری، فیلم، تلویزیون، تئاتر و اجرای زنده دارد.

او از هفت‌سالگی نواختن پیانو را آغاز کرد و آهنگسازی خواند. در سال ۲۰۰۷ مدرک کارشناسی آهنگسازی و در سال ۲۰۱۲ مدرک کارشناسی ارشد مدیریت هنرهای موسیقایی را از ورونژ روسیه گرفت. از سال ۲۰۰۱ راک و متال سمفونیک را وارد موسیقی فیلم و تلویزیون کرده و در سال ۲۰۱۳ به کانادا رفته است.

او به‌عنوان مدیر موسیقی، سرگروه و پیانیست در بیش از ۲۵۰ کنسرت در کانادا، اروپا، استرالیا و خاورمیانه اجرا کرده و با هنرمندانی از جمله رضا یزدانی، چارتار، روزبه بمانی، شهاب برادران و یاسمین سالکی همکاری داشته است.

در استودیو، بیش از ۸۰ اثر تجاری را آهنگسازی، تنظیم، تهیه، میکس و مستر کرده و سه آلبوم انفرادی خودش را از آهنگسازی تا مسترینگ تولید کرده است. موسیقی او در آلبوم‌ها، سریال‌های تلویزیونی، فیلم‌های سینمایی و نمایش‌های تئاتر شنیده شده است. از سال ۲۰۱۸ استودیو پایگان را در تورنتو اداره می‌کند و تئوری موسیقی، هارمونی، آهنگسازی، پیانو، گیتار، تربیت گوش و تولید موسیقی تدریس می‌کند.

او جایزه‌ی بهترین موسیقی تئاتر کودک را از جشنواره‌ی تئاتر سبز (۲۰۰۱) گرفته، در سال‌های ۲۰۱۰ تا ۲۰۱۳ نامزد بهترین تهیه‌کننده‌ی موسیقی بوده و عضو اتحادیه‌ی موسیقی‌دانان ایران است.

بهروز اکنون روی موسیقی فیلم و بازی تمرکز دارد و برای سفارش کار و همکاری آماده است.
